Job Summary

Purpose:

To ensure the accurate and timely financial management and reporting for centrally allocated programs. The role will provide support to the Senior Project Accountant with the review of CABI's externally funded projects and with the budgeting and reforecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and KPIs for the programs (Plantwise, PlantwisePlus, and BioProtection Portal), ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Responsible for reviewing and issuing claims to the program leaders and global team leaders, ensuring any required adjustments are accurately completed within the deadline.
  • Responsible for setting up new projects in the financial systems for the programs.
  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports and analysis to enhance understanding of the performance of the projects.
  • Assist the Senior Project Accountant with all audit requirements, donor reporting, and monthly program and project income accruals.
  • Provide first-line support to task managers (PlantwisePlus) and project managers and regional office finance staff.
  • Assist in accounting, budgeting, and reforecasting processes for programs and various externally funded projects.
  • Ensure good financial controls and compliance with CABI accounting procedures to satisfy audit requirements.
  • Undertake training on the new finance system and provide support and assistance during the implementation stage.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks and analysis within the grade criteria as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience of project accounting and reporting within an international context.
  • Experience of budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Proficient in the use of a wide range of IT packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and accountancy systems.

Education & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
