About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Ornithologist to lead our Ecology team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ornithological advice on impactful projects across the low-carbon economy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage medium to large-scale projects, delivering Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Appraisals.
  • Service Development: Innovate and enhance service offerings in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Expertise Development: Drive expertise in modelling techniques such as collision risk and spatial modelling.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff and provide expert technical advice.

About You:

  • Experience: Over 5 years of ornithological experience with a focus on sustainable development.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK legislation and ecological impact assessment.
