Detailed Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of clinical services.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide expert clinical advice and guidance to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
  • To develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes.
  • To participate in the development and delivery of education and training programs for healthcare professionals.
  • To contribute to the development of clinical services and improve patient care.
Person Specification
  • NMC 1st Level Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Paramedic/Physiotherapist.
  • Completed or working towards a Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or PGDip, including history taking and physical assessment, pharmacology, clinical decision making and diagnostics.
  • IMER Regulation trained.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Desirable Criteria
  • EPALS.
Experience
  • 3 years ED experience at Band 6/7.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams within an acute healthcare setting.
  • Evidence of involvement in direct supervision and leadership in teaching and mentoring of junior staff and students.
  • Evidence of ability to look after patients with a wide range of pathologies.
  • Currently working in a practitioner role.
Technical Skills Competencies
  • Demonstrable clinical competence in a range of clinical skills and competences associated with the role requirements of the speciality.
  • Highly developed communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrable effective time management and work organisation skills within autonomous practice to prioritise tasks and duties required to undertake the role consistently.
Knowledge
  • Sound understanding of evidence-based practice and its application.
  • Understanding of the Trust's objectives and priorities and the ability to work across operational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of research/audit processes and application.
  • Good knowledge of professional priorities.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team using excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of ability to critique own practice.
