Director of Event Management

Dromoland Castle Hotel, a renowned 5-star hotel in Ireland, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Event Management to lead its Weddings and Events Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct day-to-day wedding and conference activities, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
- Plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team members, and provide mentoring and coaching to enhance their skills.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and promote the hotel's events offerings.
- Negotiate with suppliers, manage budgets, and monitor financial performance to ensure optimal results.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create engaging sales and marketing collateral for weddings and social events.
- Conduct site tours, entertain clients, and build relationships with external event planners and clients to drive business growth.
- Work closely with the Director of Resort Sales to plan and sell event space, maximizing revenue for group business.
- Arrange all details of meetings and conventions, including room set-ups, catering, and audio-visual requirements.
- Attend external events, such as wedding shows and corporate events, to promote Dromoland Castle Hotel's events offerings.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior role in a 4-star or 5-star hotel.
- Relevant 3rd-level qualification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in relevant hotel operating systems.
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
