Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Consultant to join our team at London Bridge Hospital as a Resident Consultant. This is a pivotal role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise and leadership to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
  • Supervise and educate junior doctors, promoting their professional development and growth.
  • Develop and implement clinical governance, audit, and research initiatives to drive excellence in patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute to advance research and development in Haematology.
  • Prescribe chemotherapy and administer Intrathecal chemotherapy, performing complex procedures such as bone marrow aspirate and trephine.
  • Coordinate the junior medical team to ensure continuity in patient care and enhance the patient experience.
  • Promote and lead research projects on the unit and with SCRI, publishing case reports in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements:

  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) On the specialist register, recognised at Consultant level to practice in the UK.
  • Experience in supervising and teaching trainee physicians.
  • Passionate about Haematology and Oncology Services, consistently striving for excellence through audit and research.
  • Role Model, able to lead a team through effective communication skills and influencing teaching skills.
