About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Platforms Technical Lead to join our team at Counter Terrorism Policing. As a key member of our Cloud Platforms team, you will play a critical role in shaping our cloud infrastructure and ensuring the security and availability of our critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical platform owner, developing medium to long-term strategies for cloud product lines
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance through coaching and mentoring
  • Lead the sharing of knowledge and good practice
  • Own the development and operation of the cloud infrastructure
  • Provide team and project leadership to ensure standards are met
  • Work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Maintain and update processes as required
  • Ensure personal and team workload is effectively managed, prioritized, and issues are escalated to line management as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to required policies, standards, controls, and best practice
  • Create, maintain, and review technical documentation to ensure all services are maintained and knowledge is shared
  • Proactively monitor cloud environments to help prevent issues arising
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement across cloud services
  • Assist in mentoring and developing the team
  • Deputise for the Infrastructure Cloud Lead as required
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of cloud platform technologies and security, preferably with Microsoft Azure/365 and AWS Platforms
  • Technical creativity and confidence to make decisions as the technical platform owner
  • Ability to explain technical requirements to stakeholders who may not be technically literate
  • Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code via Terraform
  • Experience with agile leadership in technically diverse enterprise environments
