About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to join our client, a reputable contractor based in Cardiff, specializing in concrete repair, structural water, and refurbishment. Due to business growth, our client is recruiting for a strong Supervisor who has experience working on projects that have included concrete framework, overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to plans and regulations.
  • Team Coordination: Supervise construction workers, subcontractors, and staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and monitor work to ensure adherence to plans, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues that arise during construction, demonstrating effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Safety Management: Complete records for site reports, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Material Management: Manage orders and deliveries of construction materials, optimizing supply chain efficiency.
  • Staff Scheduling: Organize staff work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing downtime.

Requirements:

  • SMSTS or SSSTS Certification: Possess a valid certification in site management and supervision.
  • CSCS Card: Hold a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme card.
  • Previous Site Supervisor Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in a site supervisor role, with a construction background.
  • Experience in Running Gangs: Proven ability to manage and coordinate construction teams.
  • Strong Focus on Health and Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to promoting a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Self-Motivated and Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • General Computer Skills: Proficient in using computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and construction management tools.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a valid driving license.

Benefits:

As a Site Supervisor with our client, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £35 to £40k, depending on experience. This is a permanent role, offering continued training, support, and progression opportunities. The location for this role will mainly be in Cardiff, working on projects in South Wales, with occasional travel required.
