Senior Clinical Leader for Older People Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Leader to join our team at Kings College Hospital. The successful candidate will provide clinical, strategic, and professional leadership for Older People nursing, ensuring that the care delivered to all patients is safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to the strategic direction and leadership for Older People care services Trust-wide, in conjunction with senior medical colleagues.
- Function as an expert practitioner, able to deliver high quality care to patients and families on their caseload – 50% of their time.
- Drive the training, education, and development of nurses and allied health professionals working in the department, through (but not limited to):
- Maintain and grow links with educational and academic providers.
- Grow the Trust-wide Older People Nursing Training Programme.
- Establish recognition, locally and beyond, for the Older People Nursing Training Programme.
- Drive improvement in service quality and patient experience for Older People both in hospital and in care homes in Lambeth and Southwark.
- Take a direct role in service development, research, and evaluation.
- Line manage the Dementia and Delirium Team, the Frailty Practitioner Lead and the Kings Older People's Admission and Liaison (KOPAL) Lead demonstrating a supportive, person-centred and motivational approach.
- Represent the service at local national and international meetings to promote the Older Persons care agenda and academic teams.
- Management qualification or significant senior management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Masters degree in a relevant field.
- Evidence of post-registration education at degree level in relevant speciality.
- Engaged in or committed to doctoral qualification.
- Evidence of significant professional and managerial development, including a comprehensive and relevant CPD portfolio.
- ENB 998/Teaching qualification or equivalent.
- Counselling qualification.
- Detailed knowledge of current clinical professional issues relevant to the field.
- Evidence of driving leading edge clinical practice, supported by advanced theoretical & practical knowledge.
- Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of health policy.
- Ability to develop strategic priorities and organise staff and resources (through both influence and control) to achieve high quality patient care and delivery of quality targets.
- Highly advanced planning, organisational, leadership and communication skills, including the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a highly complex and dynamic environment.
- Ability to demonstrate clinical and personal credibility to a range of internal and external stakeholders, forging productive long-term relationships.
- Ability to handle and analyse highly complex information and deliver key messages to a range of staff including experienced clinicians and managers.
