Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and operate three state-of-the-art cryo-EM microscopes, ensuring their optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain the microscopes to ensure high-quality data collection.
- Collaborate with researchers to design future cryo-EM infrastructure strategy and evolve efficient ways of working.
- Establish strong relationships with manufacturers to ensure timely support and updates for the equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cryo-EM technology to maintain the department's position at the forefront of the field.
- PhD in a biological, biochemical, or physical sciences discipline.
- Extensive experience with operation of screening and high-resolution data-collection microscopes.
- Knowledge of the single particle cryo-EM process from protein purification to grid optimization, data processing, 3D reconstruction, and structure interpretation.
- Postdoctoral or industrial experience in structural biology.
- Experience in training scientists in one or more areas of the cryo-EM process.
