Job Title: Behavioural Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and challenging behaviour in a PRU setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students who have struggled in mainstream schools, helping them stay engaged and motivated in their learning.
  • Utilise your experience working with students with behavioural issues and trauma to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting each student's needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans tailored to each student's requirements.
  • De-escalate potential conflicts and challenging situations calmly and professionally, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with secondary students in PRU settings or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with behavioural issues and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • Ability to use initiative and adapt to the needs of each student, demonstrating resilience and patience in challenging situations.
