About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Controller to join our team at Kainos. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance and providing strategic guidance to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals and operational finance team members to deliver day-to-day finance functions.
  • Oversee timely, accurate, and high-quality monthly and quarterly reporting, focusing on continuous improvements and meeting business and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with divisional stakeholders to become a trusted business partner.
  • Ensure financial operations are managed efficiently, with a focus on controls and minimizing errors.
  • Design, implement, and review accounting controls, including the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to deliver budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Manage key external relationships, including investors, banks, auditors, and advisors.
  • Assist with year-end audit and interim reporting requirements, and manage aspects of the relationship with our financial auditors.
  • Maximize grant positions globally and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
  • Support the Group Head of Finance on key strategic projects and present finance packs/analysis to executives, the CFO, or the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and lead direct reports, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 7 years of PQE, including 3 years at a senior finance management level.
  • Experience working in a global business with different jurisdictional presences, service line offerings, and divisions.
  • Strong experience in financial systems and Excel, supporting both growth and production management information.
  • Ability to manage, coach, and mentor a high-performing, multi-site team.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced, complex projects, delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Experience building effective relationships with key stakeholders to support business growth.
  • Experience in risk mitigation through identifying and reducing key dependencies in finance processes.
  • Ability to simply and clearly communicate financial information and processes.
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing activities.
  • Reasonable travel as required.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working in a Plc environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing SaaS business.
  • Adept at working with Working Financials or Adaptive Planning as key financial and reporting systems.
