Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Accounting Manager UK to join our team at SOMFY Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, compliance, and reporting of the UK region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local standards;
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting, coordinating with external auditors for annual audits and statutory accounts preparation;
  • Financial Analysis
    • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities;
    • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by senior management;
    • Monitor financial performance and provide insights on key financial metrics;
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Assist in the annual budget process for the UK region;
    • Contribute to budget variances, providing analysis to the controlling finance teams;
    • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy;
  • Compliance and Control
    • Ensure compliance with all local financial regulations and tax requirements;
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity;
    • Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax filings and ensure timely and accurate submissions;
  • Taxation
    • Prepare and/or supervise VAT audits and tax declarations, and various other statutory filings;
    • Ensure compliance with the law and taxation within the entities;
  • Team Management
    • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional development;
    • Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively within the team to meet deadlines and objectives;
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback;
  • Systems and Process Improvement
    • Evaluate current accounting systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements;
    • Ensure effective utilization of financial software and tools;
    • Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the finance department;
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in a corporate or group finance role, with proven leadership capabilities;
  • Qualified accountant with deep expertise in IFRS, accounting, and financial consolidation;
  • Solid knowledge of financial systems, particularly Hyperion and HFM (Onestream experience is an advantage);
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Familiarity with SAP is a strong asset;
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial information;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and reliably;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team;
  • Proactive and hands-on approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence;
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with all stakeholders;
  • Business fluency in English and French; additional European languages are considered a strong asset;
