Job Title: Clinical Psychologist - Renal Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Renal Services team at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological care to adult patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the provision of psychological interventions for renal patients, staff training, and supervision. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams based at the Renal Unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Hollinswood House Telford, and Ludlow satellite unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support patients to adjust to their diagnosis or illness and changes in its severity.
  2. Assist patients with making complex treatment choices, such as which form of renal replacement therapy to choose.
  3. Support patients and their families when deciding to stop dialysis.
  4. Support staff in the management of patients with challenging behaviours on dialysis.
  5. Teach and train as required.
