Job Purpose:

To provide exceptional service to patients and staff in all departments, ensuring a highly efficient and courteous portering and distribution service throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transfer, transport, and guide patients safely around the hospital, demonstrating a caring, sympathetic, and professional approach.
  • Collect and deliver clean and dirty linen, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and organization.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist with mail sorting, franking mail as required, and provide general support in all stores and distributive activities.
  • Contribute to the general security of the hospital and associated grounds, maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach.
  • Deliver flowers and newspapers, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Arrange furniture and equipment, maintaining a well-organized and functional environment.
  • Provide general assistance in all departments, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Undertake driving duties as required, adhering to safe driving practices and hospital policies.
  • Ensure the maintenance of good working relationships, communications, and teamwork in the hospital and within the department.
  • Ensure all duties are undertaken safely, adhering to hospital protocols and procedures.

Contract Type: Permanent - Full-time
