Production Engineer - The Role

As a key member of our team at GHA Recruitment Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. Your focus will be on resolving technical issues related to production, with a particular emphasis on the overhaul and repair of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and updating of overhaul instructions and work instructions to detail the end requirement.
  • Development of tooling and procedures to optimize strip down, cleaning, painting, and assembly tasks in a safe and consistent manner.
  • Design and implementation of test equipment interfaces, such as adaptor plates and asset mounting devices, to support production.
  • Writing test specifications for product testing and programming of specific test equipment.
  • Day-to-day support for projects in the startup phase, prior to first article inspection, and optimization of the process for serial production.
  • Liaising with production management, production control, project management, and engineering functions to deliver tools and processes for achieving the required production process.
  • Continual review of the project-specific production process to establish best practice and eliminate wastefulness, relating to time, tooling, and materials.
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement activities with workshop teams, utilizing the lean production toolkit.
  • Carrying out other production-related functions broadly consistent with the role when required.
  • Vibration analysis of products and assets.
  • Assisting in setting up all processes and engineering/technical requirements to support projects and production.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or other relevant qualifications with significant practical experience.
  • Overhaul and repair experience is highly desirable.
  • Good practical engineering approach.
  • CAD skills.
  • Microsoft Office suite and technical documentation skills are essential.
  • Fluent technical and conversational English.
  • Good communication skills on a technical level with both internal and external customers.
