We are seeking an experienced and skilled Anaesthetic Team Leader to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will be responsible for the operational management of specific specialties within the theatre department.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in anaesthetic practice and leadership, with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for planning and organizing complex activities, ensuring the smooth running of the theatre department, and maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver a safe, efficient, and high-quality service
  • Plan and organize complex activities to ensure the smooth running of the theatre department
  • Ensure accurate and contemporaneous records are maintained
  • Participate in the management of change and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure the safe control and custody of all drugs within the peri-operative area
  • Develop and implement new theatre procedures and policies
  • Monitor activity and financial information to provide reports for the specialist area
Person Specification:
  • Band 6 with anaesthetic experience
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent
  • RGN 1st Level or Registered ODP
  • Recognised Leadership Qualification
  • Leadership/Co-ordinating experience
