About the Role
Warrington Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Specialist to ensure a secure and compliant working environment across our facilities. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in safeguarding the well-being of our staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of maintenance records for each school, verifying inspections and service documentation from contractors.
- Ensure timely completion of remedial actions identified in maintenance records, or confirm planned action steps.
- Communicate with Office Managers and Headteachers regarding any outstanding maintenance tasks.
- Regularly inspect work areas across our schools to identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Review Health & Safety Audits and Fire Risk Assessments, highlighting any outstanding actions to relevant personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of Risk Assessments, CoSHH Assessments, and DSE Assessments for each school.
- Research and implement effective Estate and Safety Management Systems within the Council.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding practices and adhere to all relevant Council policies.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
