Job Title: Chef

At Priory Group, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Suttons Manor, a specialist low secure forensic service for men over 50. As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents, taking into account any special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Ensure operational standards comply with the company's Food Safety policies and guidelines and statutory regulations.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Ensure the cost-effective and efficient control of stock, including placing orders for food products and checking/reconciling deliveries.
  • Monitor and adapt food production to minimize waste and ensure that there is a minimum amount of wasted food.
  • Research, develop, and create varied and interesting menus that take account of healthy eating guidelines and any dietary requirements of the particular resident group.
  • Ensure that wherever possible, the people who use the service are provided with variety and choice, with full regard for dietary, nutritional, and religious requirements.
  • Responsible for food safety standards and the standard of kitchen cleaning.
  • Experience producing meals for large groups on time and to budget.
  • Supervise assigned catering staff to ensure their quality of work continues to meet required operational standards.

About Suttons Manor:

Suttons Manor is a specialist low secure forensic service for men over 50, providing care over two wards, both of which are 13-bedded male units. The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over 9 acres near the town of Romford in Essex, with convenient access provided by the M25 and nearby underground station at Theydon Bois.
