About the Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards. This position involves developing and implementing quality assurance processes and our Quality Management System (QMS), collaborating with sourcing, engineering, and production teams as well as our supply chain, to maintain and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the business adheres to the defined Quality Management System processes, work instructions, standards, and policies through internal auditing.
  • Ensure the safety of the delivered products through safety audits and inspections, and ensure that any product hazards are promptly addressed.
  • Maintain metrics and KPI dashboards, measuring and reporting on our own internal operational and process performance and that of our suppliers against agreed targets.
  • Ensure that inspections, reviews, and testing are held against appropriate criteria, with their results logged and resulting actions tracked and managed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including ISO 9001.
  • Update and manage the QMS, improving the processes and work instructions through continual improvement and lessons learned in conjunction with the process owners to ensure they are efficient, safe, and improve product reliability and performance.
  • Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Capture, investigate, and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, working with cross-functional teams on quality-related problems.
  • Supplier Quality Management.
  • Support the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers, and monitor their performance.
  • Visit supplier premises to assess first articles to ensure compliance to appropriate standards and requirements and to support product buy-offs or quality investigations.
  • Establish regular communication with internal functions, external suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or an engineering discipline to at least HND qualified or equivalent. Graduate degree in a relevant field is preferable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and use of Quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto, etc.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a program team and engage with other functions.
  • Prepared to challenge constructively and raise issues and concerns that need addressing.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support the program, including ability to work away from home to support short-duration trips if required (1-5 days typically).
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP, JIRA, and Power BI.
