The White Lion is a renowned hospitality establishment seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading by example, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our discerning guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume leadership of the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu concepts, ensuring alignment with the company's culinary vision and brand identity.
  • Oversee kitchen inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and ensuring timely deliveries to support the kitchen's operational needs.
  • Work closely with the restaurant management team to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the kitchen.
  • Participate in menu engineering, cost control, and inventory management initiatives to optimize profitability and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of kitchen policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to identify and address areas for improvement, driving a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the kitchen team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of kitchen operations, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including restaurant management, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
