About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our dynamic Nature team in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the environment and delivering innovative ecological solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients
  • Produce and technically review ecological assessments, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Protected Species Baseline Reports, and Ecological Impact Assessments
  • Provide technical leadership to support the delivery of proportionate and pragmatic solutions
  • Lead consultation and engagement with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies
  • Contribute to the development of our technical capabilities and encourage innovation and research
  • Lead the production of bids and tenders for ecological services
  • Mentor and support junior staff and peers
Requirements
  • Degree in ecology or an associated subject
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards or obtained Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist status
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation and policy
  • Experience in leading and managing ecological surveys, licensing, and impact assessments
  • Experience in managing projects, project budgets, and leading stakeholder discussions
  • Experience in reviewing and verifying technical work and supporting team members
