About the Role

The Samy Group of companies, a leading independent convenience retail operator, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to support its overall operations and ensure its continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all legal issues and undertake a wide range of legal tasks.
  • Develop and implement existing systems to ensure all commercial contracts are up-to-date and best in practice.
  • Provide timely and clear legal advice that balances legal risk and commercial benefit.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and act as a trusted business partner and legal adviser.
  • Advise on and manage a broad range of disputes across the business, including property, trading, and debt proceedings.
  • Draft, negotiate, and/or review all aspects of commercial contracts.
  • Support the legal aspects of relationships with all stakeholder groups.
  • Deliver relevant training across the business.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with a mix of experience across a wide range of estate, commercial trading, and dispute matters.
  • Ideal experience in commercial contract, property, and HR law, including working with Environmental Health & Trading Standards.
  • Good communication skills, confident in decision making, with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
