The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical operations and maintenance of our facility in Reading. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.

  1. Supervise and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers and technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  2. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building services.
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  4. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve any mechanical issues.
  5. Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  7. Liaise with other departments and external contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve mechanical issues and improve overall efficiency.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  5. Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within the mechanical engineering sector.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
  3. Relevant qualifications, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  4. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  5. SSSTS or SMSTS.
