Commercial Estimation Manager

As the Commercial Estimation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete spectrum of the company's commercial functions, from initial estimates to final account settlements.

Your role will involve assisting the project delivery teams with site assessments, estimations, technical inquiries, commercial evaluations of terms and conditions, and procurement processes. Additionally, you will lead the estimation efforts for all significant projects entering the organization.

This position will report directly to the Head of Operations and will maintain a close working relationship with the Board of Directors.

This role is based in the office and will require travel to various sites across the Midlands and North West of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Documenting, developing, and enhancing Commercial Policies and Procedures.
  • Creating comprehensive, detailed, and precise estimates in response to surveys, requests for quotations, or tenders.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and complete estimates/prices are submitted.
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including assisting with Framework and Bid submission packs. This is a crucial growth area, and you will be expected to take full commercial ownership of all framework agreements held by the organization.
  • Ensuring tenders are presented consistently, with careful consideration of risk and defined scope.
  • Examining all tender documentation and advising on bid prospects and potential winning strategies.

What We Require:


  • Proven experience in a similar estimating or surveying management role.
  • Prior experience in mechanical engineering, electrical installation, or facilities management.
  • M&E/Building Services-related qualification.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ambition to contribute to a growing organization.
  • Ability to secure new business opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and capability to support major bid processes.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to represent the organization at client meetings.
