We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Administrator to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Paediatric Imaging Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Main Responsibilities- Imaging Expertise: Provide high-quality imaging services using a variety of radiography equipment, including plain film and fluoroscopy.
- Professional Development: Further training in MRI will be arranged once proficient in all other areas of the role and competencies have been completed with the Superintendent.
- Knowledge and Liaison: Maintain excellent knowledge of paediatric pathology and clinical presentation to ensure the correct imaging examination is performed. Liaise with Paediatric Consultant Radiologists and Advanced Practitioners where clinical input is needed.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to the Employers Procedures, Local Rules, HCPC standards, Health and Safety at Work Act, and local guidance, policies and procedures.
- Departmental Adherence: Ensure departmental adherence to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017 and Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) 2017, MRHA MRI safety guidelines and the Trust's policies, protocols and guidelines.
- Communication and Teamwork: Effectively use hospital software, including CRIS, PACS, and Bamboo, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Participate in the 24/7 rota, communicating effectively with children and young people with varying needs and at different stages of development.
- Support and Development: Support rotational radiographers and junior colleagues to develop their paediatric imaging practice. Experience of working with paediatrics is essential.
- Essential: Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues. Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
