About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our Glasgow team, looking to develop their career into a senior position. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will work on exciting projects, developing your skillset both operationally and technically.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other parties involved in projects and programmes.
- Administer various contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
- Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
- Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely applications.
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives.
- Effectively manage contract change, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
- Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and budgets.
- Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders.
- Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Lead people and commissions as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience or a sound understanding of contract management, cost management, change management, valuation, risk management, procurement, estimating, pricing, reporting, and collaborative approach.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
