Job Title: Community Podiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Podiatrist to join our team at Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assessment and interventions to patients with high-risk foot needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and implement individual care plans for patients with high-risk foot complications.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to provide wound care management and foot care education to patients, patient groups, and healthcare professionals.
  • Recognize and respond to acute foot conditions that may be life or limb-threatening.
  • Deliver foot care education and advice to patients, patient groups, relatives, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide supervision, advice, and education to students and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • BSc/Diploma in Podiatric Medicine.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience with evidence of successful completion of specialist courses.
  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council.
  • V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • Formal qualification in teaching/health education.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of knowledge of Diabetes and its complications.
  • Ability to undertake advanced vascular assessment of the lower limb.
  • In-depth knowledge of wound assessment, wound care, and dressing regimes.
