Job Title: Community Podiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Podiatrist to join our team at Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assessment and interventions to patients in the community and in acute settings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and implement individual care plans for high-risk patients with conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Connective tissue disorders, Diabetes, Peripheral Arterial Disease, Neuropathy, and lower limb deformities.
  • Work across community and hospital settings, including patients' homes, to provide in-depth knowledge and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment plans, and evaluation of care of patients presenting with high-risk foot complications.
  • Provide advice, support, and training to podiatry colleagues and other healthcare professionals in relation to high-risk foot care.
Requirements:
  • BSc/Diploma in Podiatric Medicine
  • Extensive postgraduate experience with evidence of successful completion of specialist long and short courses up to Masters level equivalent
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia
  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council
  • V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to obtain
Skills and Attributes:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of knowledge of Diabetes and its complications
  • Ability to undertake advanced vascular assessment of the lower limb
  • In-depth knowledge of wound assessment, wound care, and dressing regimes
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work across community and hospital settings, including patients' homes.
