Petroplan is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to support a major MoD project. This is a 12-month contract, extendable for up to 3 years, subject to review.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Procurement Manager in executing procurement processes for a major MoD project.
- Conduct supplier site assessments, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on business insights, supplier analysis, and risk assessments.
- Identify and address supplier risks, such as financial instability, cybersecurity threats, and product safety, to maintain business continuity.
- Strong procurement experience, ideally within the UK Defence Sector and knowledge of MoD procurement processes.
- In-depth understanding of legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, with excellent risk assessment and supplier management skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions, manage stakeholders, and address procurement challenges.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and driving efficiency.
