The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in managing SQL databases, including maintenance, backup, and restoration tasks, alongside utilizing Real User Monitoring (RUM) tools such as Datadog for effective application issue resolution.

A solid familiarity with Azure Infrastructure and Entra is crucial. Experience in supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise applications, particularly those operating within a three-tier architecture (Web/App/Db), is required.

This position is fully remote, offering a 12-month fixed-term contract with a competitive salary of £60,000 per annum, complemented by attractive benefits. The work schedule consists of 35 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical support for applications, ensuring optimal availability and performance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to assist in development and deployment activities.
  • Implement and oversee blue-green deployment strategies to reduce downtime and facilitate seamless rollouts.
  • Create and manage automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines to enhance application deployment processes.
  • Conduct SQL database maintenance, including backup and restoration tasks, to uphold data integrity and accessibility.
  • Employ Real User Monitoring (RUM) tools like Datadog to observe, diagnose, and troubleshoot application issues in real-time.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to address application-related challenges and optimize performance.
  • Administer and maintain Azure infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and scalability of deployed applications.
  • Utilize Entra for identity and access management, ensuring secure and efficient application access.
  • Document support procedures, issue resolutions, and system configurations to establish a knowledge base for the team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in application support, deployment, and monitoring.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Application Support Engineer or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong comprehension of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with blue-green deployment strategies.
  • Proficiency in automation utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid skills in SQL database maintenance, including backup and restoration operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Real User Monitoring (RUM) tools, such as Datadog.
  • Good working knowledge of Azure infrastructure and services.
