Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Execute Software Strategy: Collaborate with our CTO to define and execute the company's software strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and Mentor Engineering Teams: Lead a team of Software and Data Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their performance, development, and motivation.
  • Manage Engineering Projects: Oversee engineering projects from planning to delivery, ensuring technical, timeline, and budgetary goals are met.
  • Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement across software, architecture, processes, and workflows.
  • Recruit and Retain Top Talent: Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent to support the company's growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading engineering teams with 5-10 direct reports.
  • Strong Technical Foundation: Strong foundation in software engineering, software design, and architecture.
  • Product and Project Management: Experience in product and project management, including setting roadmaps and driving execution.
  • Effective Leadership Style: An empathetic leadership style with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to partner with executive stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
