This role presents a chance to be integral to a prestigious project, leading the development and integration of our environmental and energy management systems while addressing the needs of clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of the corporate sustainability strategy and oversee project commitments.
  • Ensure adherence to the Energy and Environmental Management System on the project.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to project teams, clients, and contractors to establish and implement effective environmental management practices and identify opportunities for best practices.
  • Assist project teams in incorporating sustainability requirements from both clients and our organization.
  • Assess, advise, and deliver necessary environmental training for project personnel.
  • Engage with the workforce regarding environmental matters.
  • Foster innovation and best practices to tackle environmental challenges and share learnings.
  • Communicate with relevant statutory bodies on behalf of the project, securing necessary consents to facilitate operations and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor environmental performance and conduct assessments.
  • Advocate for the reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of environmental obligations across projects.
  • Support the organization in advancing sustainability efforts, aiming for net-zero operations and delivering nature-positive solutions with diverse teams.
  • Track KPIs and gather data, conducting weekly site inspections.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong personal motivation and commitment, with effective goal-setting capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Capacity to adopt a strategic perspective on environmental requirements and implement resulting plans.
  • Positive attitude towards change, assisting others in adapting to new challenges.
  • Organized and logical thinker with prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in effective communication across all management levels, fostering good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 requirements and management of compliance with these systems.
  • Experience with BREEAM, LEED, or similar sustainability assessment frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Membership in IEMA, IES, or IEEM (minimum practitioner level or equivalent preferred).
  • Relevant undergraduate degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP).
