About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer Lead to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our Power Systems team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions to our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert advice on power systems solutions, including feasibility studies, concept design, and detailed technical analysis.
  2. Work on electrical designs for new connections or upgrades, including HV connections for new energy centres and EHV connections for battery storage/renewable projects.
  3. Build and lead a team to support detailed analysis of power systems as required.
  4. Support energy masterplan studies on pathways to decarbonisation, providing expert advice on future loads, feasibility of proposed solutions, and impact assessment on the grid.
  5. Stay up-to-date with policy/regulation changes that might impact power systems solutions.
  6. Keep up-to-date with supplier developments, equipment lead times, and high-level costs for substations and new connections to the transmission and distribution network.
  7. Perform Due Diligence and Owner's Engineer activities for client projects.
  8. Project manage bids and projects throughout their life cycle.
  9. Stay current with the latest ancillary/balancing/flexibility market services for industrial, renewable, and battery storage projects.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Power Systems Engineer with a strong background in transmission, distribution, or consulting, particularly in infrastructure planning of project-level, local, and regional power systems schemes across various stages.

You should have experience working in accordance with DNO standard documents, reviewing single line diagrams and designs, and knowledge of energy network regulations.
