Position Overview
We are excited to announce a full-time opportunity for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to become a vital member of our dedicated nursing team within the Local Neonatal Unit. This permanent position is designed for a qualified professional who is passionate about providing exceptional care to infants born from 32 weeks gestation. The unit is equipped with 8 special care cots and operates as a level 1 facility, collaborating closely with a level 2 unit to ensure comprehensive support for neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be entrusted with the management and operational oversight of the unit in the absence of the unit manager. Essential qualifications include:
- A valid nursing registration with a minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in a neonatal setting.
- A recognized Neonatal Qualification in Specialty.
Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks. A proactive attitude towards personal and team development is essential. While not mandatory, a mentorship qualification and familiarity with management and leadership principles are highly desirable.
