Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the GIS Casework Lead, various business units, Managing Agents, and the GIS Team to guarantee timely and superior GIS support across all sectors.
  • Perform proximity assessments to evaluate the spatial impacts of new projects on existing assets and obligations.
  • Generate comprehensive maps, plans, and charts for legal documentation, informational purposes, and ad-hoc requests from internal teams and external entities.
  • Maintain and enhance GIS datasets to a high standard, following team quality protocols.
  • Digitize and capture spatial and attribute data utilizing advanced GIS technologies.
  • Conduct GIS analyses to address business inquiries and deliver actionable insights.
  • Oversee and prioritize business requests, ensuring all tasks are documented and managed effectively.
  • Adhere to GIS methodologies and standards to ensure consistency and quality in outputs.
  • Develop cross-portfolio expertise to improve team collaboration and workload distribution.
  • Stay informed about the latest GIS advancements to maximize the value of outputs.
  • Investigate opportunities for automation and self-service GIS solutions using Python scripting, FME, or other technologies.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and advocate for self-service GIS solutions.
  • Facilitate seamless data transfer and knowledge sharing with Managing Agents.
  • Assist in responding to information requests as needed.
  • Manage data in accordance with the registration of The Crown Estate title.
  • Perform additional GIS tasks, including user acceptance testing of GIS applications, as required.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • BSc in Geographical Information Systems/Science (GIS) or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in Esri Desktop and geoprocessing tools.
  • Understanding of Crown Estate portfolios and the significance of GIS in our operations.
  • Experience with Python scripting and third-party terrestrial and marine datasets.
  • Familiarity with OS products, Admiralty charts, metadata standards, projections, and transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality GIS outputs using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Capacity to present spatial data effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with GIS dissemination tools such as ArcGIS Online.
  • Adept at interpreting various sources, including maps, deeds, plans, and aerial imagery.
  • Effective skills in workload planning and prioritization.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to responsibilities.
