Electron Microscopy Specialist Opportunity

Oxford Brookes University is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral biologist to join our successful Centre for Bioimaging as an Electron Microscopy Specialist.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide training and support to scientists using our electron microscopes and associated equipment.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the microscopes and assist with data collection and analysis.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the facility's scientific capability.
  • Work alongside the light microscopy specialist to run the Centre, including running seminars and some undergraduate teaching.
  • Collaborate with our media centre to promote the microscopy centre and our science.
Requirements:
  • Post-doctoral biologist with experience in chemical fixation of biological material and ultramicrotomy.
  • Keen interest in microscopy and a strong understanding of electron microscopy techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
