About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support our local community by raising awareness of dementia and the support services we offer. As an Awareness Raising Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that people who are worried about or affected by dementia are informed about the resources available to them.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting local events and activities to promote awareness of dementia and our services
  • Holding information stands and displaying leaflets in community venues, such as libraries and GP surgeries
  • Establishing connections with local organisations and community groups to promote our services
  • Providing up-to-date and accurate information to the public

As a representative of Alzheimer's Society, you will receive branded clothing and may have the opportunity to be featured in local media to showcase our work.

This role will support the Selby Dementia Adviser team in raising awareness of the support available to people living in and around Selby who are affected by dementia.

Applicants should be able to travel independently to deliver leaflets in Selby and the surrounding area and be able to support with holding awareness raising stands at various times throughout the year.
