About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Teacher of Maths to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As a key member of our educational team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the maths curriculum, developing tailored learning plans for our pupils, and promoting maths education in a positive and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning, particularly with 'your' class.
  • Monitor and record progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes.
  • Work closely with pupils to keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
  • Work one-to-one with pupils or in small group settings to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to direct them to effectively support the pupils.
  • Support team members with the delivery of maths across the school and have oversight of the subject as a whole.
Requirements
  • An ability to teach maths to Level 2 (GCSE/Functional Skills).
  • Patience, compassion, and resilience – The pupils you teach will be neurodiverse, which can impact their learning behaviour and communication needs.
  • A driving licence – Our pupils love to learn in a wide range of settings.
