Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

Reports To:Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine or equivalent
The Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine provides expert clinical care in the diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the ongoing development of respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and ward rounds, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive patient management
- Provide immediate care for patients with acute respiratory conditions and contribute to emergency on-call services as required
- Participate in teaching and training of junior medical staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
- Where applicable, participate in or support research activities related to respiratory medicine
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures
- MBBS or equivalent, with full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice
- Completion of specialist training in Respiratory Medicine, evidenced by a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
- Significant post-training experience in Respiratory Medicine, with a proven track record of managing complex cases and performing relevant procedures
- Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills in respiratory medicine
