Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Rainham Steel Co Ltd, Essex

Salary: £45,000 - £49,000 per annum depending on experience

Job type: Full Time

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at Rainham Steel Co Ltd in Essex. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as welding, cutting, and fabrication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the operations manager
  • Installation, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Welding (Mig, Arc), cutting, and fabrication skills
  • Fault finding and rectification
  • Periodic service and maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions
  • Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary
  • Basic working hours 8am - 5.5 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
  • Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Able to work in a fast-paced pressurized environment
  • Good command of the English language
  • Good timekeeper
