UPS is seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As a BaSE Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, and adjusting plant floor devices to maintain optimal performance. Your duties will include sorting calls and breakdowns, expediting their completion, and providing information to maintenance mechanics on how to complete required repairs. You will also assist in solving daily problems inherent in keeping conveyors or physical facilities in good working order. In this role, you will be the direct contact person for the BaSE department during sorts, lead a team of engineers, and take PLC backups and troubleshoot using PLC software. You will respond to internal customers, facility alarms, and emergencies, and perform preventative maintenance. To be successful in this position, you will need proficiency in S7 software, such as Tia Portal, Proneta, Primary setup tool, and Simatic manager. A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, as well as programming experience, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation, including basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting. You will also need proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and elementary diagrams.
