YHA South Downs invites you to be part of a distinctive workplace. We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Team Member to join our staff, working up to 4 days a week, including weekends. Flexibility is key, as you may also assist in our bustling café during peak times.

Located in the scenic South Downs National Park, YHA South Downs features a converted farmhouse with 68 beds in the hostel, along with LandPods, Pods, and Bell Tents. We cater to a diverse range of guests, from school groups to individuals exploring the South Downs Way, and our café is open to the public.

Your Role: Enhancing Guest Experiences

As a Housekeeping Team Member, your contribution is vital in ensuring that every guest enjoys a remarkable stay. Your commitment to cleanliness and efficiency is essential in fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and clean guest rooms between departures and arrivals, ensuring a fresh and inviting environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in shower and toilet facilities for a safe and comfortable experience.
  • Keep the reception and communal areas tidy, creating a friendly ambiance for all.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties efficiently, upholding cleanliness standards throughout the hostel.
  • Adhere to YHA's guidelines for the use and storage of cleaning supplies, supporting our sustainability efforts.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the hostel management team to ensure guest safety and comfort.
  • Sort and manage linen, contributing to the overall comfort of our guests.

Desired Skills and Experience:

While prior experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Experience in hospitality or customer service is beneficial, and we value diverse life experiences just as much as formal skills.

Strong communication skills and excellent time management are essential. Familiarity with YHA's core mission and teamwork experience are also advantageous.

Please note that this role may involve physical tasks, as our accommodations primarily consist of bunk beds.
