We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs, such as autism.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their educational journey. You will need to demonstrate a fair and consistent approach, be able to understand the subjects you support, and have excellent de-escalation skills.
We are looking for someone who can nurture supportive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents, and be able to demonstrate a practical and hands-on approach to supporting teaching. In addition to this, you will be required to assist pupils during lunchtime.
The successful candidate will have relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent, a good standard of English and Mathematics, and basic computer skills. Previous experience in supporting pupils with special needs is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:- Support pupils with a range of needs, including Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, speech and/or language difficulties, and cerebral palsy
- Work with pupils who exhibit challenging behavior
- Develop and implement strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
- Be flexible and adaptable with timetabling and daily routines
- Communicate effectively with parents and relevant staff
- Reside in the UK
- Have a right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS
