Job Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and optimistic machinery operator to become part of our dynamic workforce.

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in operating various machinery, particularly excavators, and will contribute to local project execution while being open to travel and overnight stays as necessary.

This role requires technical expertise, physical fitness, and a proactive approach to site and environmental safety.

We seek an individual who enjoys outdoor work, embodies a strong work ethic, and takes a practical approach to tasks.

You will play a vital role in the hands-on execution of environmental enhancement initiatives. Adherence to site health and safety standards is essential. Continuous training and development opportunities will be provided, along with significant potential for career advancement. This position may appeal to individuals transitioning from traditional land-based careers to those with a stronger environmental focus. The work is diverse and engaging, offering a sense of accomplishment and job satisfaction.
Standard working hours are 45 per week, with additional hours as needed. Weekend work may occasionally be required during critical project phases. This is a full-time role, with flexibility in working hours where feasible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate machinery, including excavators, dumpers, and other equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Follow project specifications and plans to ensure accurate task completion.
  • Engage in physical labor as required to support project objectives.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Travel to various project sites as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Machinery Operator, particularly with excavators.
  • Current excavator qualifications and relevant certifications.
  • Polite demeanor and capability to perform physical tasks when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
  • Valid UK driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications or certifications in machinery operation and first aid.
  • Experience in river and wetland restoration, construction, and aquatic environments.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
