South Central Fleet Services Ltd is seeking dedicated Fleet Maintenance Specialists to join our dynamic team at our workshop. This role is crucial in ensuring that our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, supporting essential services.
This is an excellent opportunity to become a key player in our operations, ensuring that our fleet is ready to serve the community. Our workshop operates seven days a week, with flexible shifts available, accommodating both part-time and full-time schedules.
Key Responsibilities
The Fleet Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for:
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on ambulances and various vehicles, adhering to the standards set by South Central Fleet Services.
- Responding to breakdowns on-site when necessary, while prioritizing safety protocols.
- Preparing new vehicles for operational readiness and managing the decommissioning of older vehicles.
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.
- Complying with security protocols to safeguard vehicles and equipment.
- Participating in ongoing training related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Making informed decisions regarding vehicle repairs in the absence of supervisory staff.
- Engaging in the Duty Mechanic standby rota as required.
- Contributing to all income-generating activities relevant to fleet maintenance.

As a subsidiary of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, South Central Fleet Services Ltd is dedicated to the effective delivery and maintenance of vehicles for the trust.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary of approximately £37,755 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with potential earnings exceeding £45,000 per annum through overtime opportunities. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft Studies Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualifications in Motor Vehicle Technology.
- A valid Full Driving Licence.
