Position Overview: Are you passionate about guiding and motivating support professionals in delivering exceptional Crisis Services for individuals facing mental health and emotional challenges? We are seeking a Lead Support Specialist to enhance our dedicated team.
Role Responsibilities: This position involves:
- Providing empathetic assistance to individuals in distress, creating a secure environment for them to express their experiences.
- Offering practical solutions to address factors contributing to emotional turmoil and collaborating with clients to devise strategies for improving their circumstances and preventing future crises.
- Participating in a flexible work schedule to ensure 24-hour service availability, including various shifts (daytime, evenings, overnight stays).
Contract Details:
- Permanent employment
- Annual salary of £25,060
- Additional compensation for overnight and irregular hours
- 37 hours of work per week

Key Duties:
- Deliver compassionate support to individuals in distress.
- Collaborate with clients and professionals to tackle social and practical challenges impacting their emotional well-being.
- Work in conjunction with the Crisis Team to ensure effective communication of pertinent information.
- Engage clients in the development, management, assessment, and future enhancement of the services they receive.
- Coordinate with external agencies on behalf of clients as part of both long-term and crisis intervention support.
- Assist clients in accessing necessary information and resources.
Qualifications Required:
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and relationship-centered approaches.
- Experience in the mental health field or in supporting individuals facing emotional distress.
- Proven track record of involving service users in the design and improvement of the services they utilize, with a strong emphasis on listening to those with lived experiences.
- Exceptional communication abilities.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and safeguarding principles for adults.
- Self-awareness and a commitment to reflective practice and continuous personal growth.
- Experience in managing work schedules and shift patterns.
- Ability to obtain or currently possess a DBS check.
Additional Requirement: A valid driver's license is necessary for this role.
