The role of a Recreational Activities Facilitator extends beyond mere event planning; it encompasses the provision of care and support to some of society's most vulnerable individuals.
Committing to a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, you will become an integral part of the team at Elysium Healthcare, where you will foster an activity-driven environment. This position will allow you to leverage both technical and creative abilities to design, implement, and oversee programs that emphasize social, recreational, and leisure pursuits.
Your responsibilities will include establishing one-on-one and group relationships with service users, enabling you to adapt and enhance activities to boost participation. As you curate and execute activities tailored to their interests, a strong focus on their unique needs will be essential to support their individual treatment plans.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will cultivate connections with community resources to encourage service users to partake in local events.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing social and recreational events for service users within a secure setting who cannot access public services independently.
- Gathering insights from service users regarding their social and recreational preferences.
- Monitoring general behavior, capabilities, and responses of service users, providing regular updates through verbal and written communication to relevant team members.
- Documenting observations and progress in service users' clinical records under supervision.
- Adhering to security protocols and complying with service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Conducting basic risk assessments on a daily basis for individuals and groups of service users.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, and security standards for service users, staff, and visitors.
- Demonstrating effective coordination skills and resource management.
Qualifications:
- Basic skills in group facilitation.
- A minimum of 12 months of experience in a mental health environment (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team framework.
- Initiative and self-motivation.
- Understanding of mental health issues and their impact on functioning.
- A solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Awareness of gender-specific needs.
- Sensitivity to the cultural requirements of service users.
- A valid UK driving license.
Work Environment:
You will be part of a dedicated team at a specialized neurological center designed for adults over 18 years old who have experienced an acquired brain injury.
This facility is tailored to support individuals with challenging and complex needs, requiring a neurobehavioral rehabilitation program.
