Job Summary

SLR is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in the waste and recycling sector. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for managing projects across the life cycle, from concept design to feasibility studies, and collaborating with other disciplines to deliver business development activities and support specialists on a range of projects in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste and recycling projects, preparing concept designs and completing feasibility studies;
  • Assist with review of third-party designs, technical proposals, and operational models, and write technical due diligence reports for funders;
  • Prepare technical and procurement documentation, schematics, and drawings, and manage contracts through plant construction projects;
  • Assist with preparation of models to determine plant energy and mass balances, emission rates, and financial/operational models, including thermodynamic calculations and basic financial metrics;
  • Conduct on-site inspections, witness, verify, and supervise construction, commissioning, and testing projects, and troubleshoot operational plant, including waste and recycling operations (thermal, mechanical, biological), and other renewable energy and sustainability-based projects;
  • Develop relationships with existing and new clients, attend conferences, develop prospects, write proposals, and win new projects;
  • Assist other teams within SLR with technical and process engineering aspects of diverse projects.
Requirements
  • Degree in engineering and experience in managing projects in the waste and recycling or related fields;
  • Significant experience in project management in the recycling and waste/recovery or related fields;
  • Numerate and confident with data, basic modeling with excellent report writing skills and IT literate, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Full, current, clean driving license with ability to travel;
  • Experience working on site, health and safety, and CDM (Construction Design Management Regulations 2015);
  • Experience of operations, contract management, and procurement;
