Health and Safety Professional

We are working with a leading construction company to find a skilled Health and Safety Professional to join their team. As a key member of the SHEQ department, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of employees, contractors, and site visitors across various projects in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement SHEQ Policies: Regularly review, update, and communicate health and safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct thorough safety audits, inspections, and investigations, compiling reports and ensuring consistent compliance with industry standards.
- Manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Complete and review method statements and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement controls.
- Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Document, investigate, and implement recommended improvements for all accidents and near misses.
- Provide Site Inductions and Training: Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees and contractors, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and roles in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain SHEQ Department Administration: Ensure all relevant SHEQ department administration is up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
- Develop Documentation for SHEQ Management System: Assist in developing documentation for the SHEQ management system to ensure compliance with OHSAS 45001:2018 and ISO 14001/2015 and 9001/2015 standards.
- NEBOSH OHAS Qualification Certificate: Hold a NEBOSH OHAS qualification certificate for at least 2 years.
- Experience in PSCS Functions: Have experience in PSCS functions and managing health and safety matters during the construction stage.
- Environmental and Quality Qualification: Possess an environmental and quality qualification, which is advantageous.
- Understanding of Industry Standards: Have a good understanding of OHSAS 45001 or 18001 and ISO 14001 and 9001.
- Minimum 2 Years of Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar health and safety role.
- Knowledge of Rail and Windfarm Works: Knowledge of rail works and windfarm works is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent Communication and Team-Building Skills: Possess excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Well-Developed Organisation and Planning Skills: Have well-developed organisation and planning skills.
- Good Problem-Solving Skills: Possess good problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Clean Driving Licence: Hold a clean driving licence for travel to sites.
