We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our Health and Safety function, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our employees and contractors across various work environments.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of our Health and Safety Management systems across all sites.
- Risk Assessment and Compliance: Conduct and update risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety Legislation (NI and ROI).
- Health and Safety Advice: Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to both managers and employees.
- Investigations and Reporting: Carry out health and safety investigations of accidents and near misses, preparing monthly health and safety reports and collating health and safety statistics.
- Site Inspections and Training: Conduct site inspections and provide training to employees on health and safety best practices.
- Contractor Management: Ensure that contractors' codes of practice are up to date and adhered to by all employees and contractors.
- Experience: At least two years' experience in a Health and Safety Officer/Advisor role (flexible on this for the contract position).
- Qualifications: 3rd level qualification in a related discipline and a NEBOSH certificate, or at least five years' experience in a Health & Safety Officer/Advisor role for candidates without a third level qualification (flexibility on this for the contract position).
- Skills: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with a strong eye for detail, ability to work independently, and excellent analytical skills.
- Additional Requirements: A valid driving licence and access to own transport.
